Survivor Boots First, Traitors Gets 3 More Seasons & RHONY Is ON FIRE

In the biggest reality TV business news of the week, Peacock announced on September 16 that The Traitors has been renewed for three additional seasons — taking the Alan Cumming-hosted juggernaut all the way through Season 8. The mega-renewal came on the heels of the show winning all seven Emmy categories it was nominated in this year, including Outstanding Reality Competition Program for a third consecutive year. Season 4 also wrapped as its highest-rated season yet, with viewership up 72% over the prior season and 8.1 billion minutes watched. Meanwhile, the all-civilian spinoff The Traitors: New Blood premiered September 17 on NBC and new episodes are now streaming Fridays on Peacock.

The Real Housewives of New York City returned September 8 for Season 16, and fan-favorite Carole Radziwill is back as a 'friend of' after an eight-year absence — and she hasn't missed a beat. Jessel Taank sparked instant drama by feuding with both Carole and Erin Lichy, at one point calling Erin 'a bootleg Houdini.' Season 16 also features explosive newcomers Daisy Toye, Hailey Glassman, and Erika Hammond, plus Carole is being confronted on-screen about her name appearing in the Epstein files. New York truly is back.

Beyond the first boot drama, Survivor 51's 'Open Era' premiere introduced a jaw-dropping new spin on the coin flip twist: if a castaway successfully lands the coin flip, $1 million is added to the prize pot and they get an immunity idol. But if they fail, they go home immediately — no Tribal Council. Jeff Probst revealed that any un-won bonus money rolls over to the next season, meaning a future player could be flipping for $2 million, $3 million, or more. The season features 21 all-new castaways split into tribes Savu (purple) and Toka (yellow), and airs Wednesdays on CBS.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 7 kicked off on September 16 with a supersized, emotionally raw premiere titled 'Chosen Family.' The episode featured devastating footage of Mary Cosby celebrating her son's return home after 86 days in prison — footage made all the more heartbreaking given his subsequent fatal overdose. The other housewives were shown coming together at Angie's home to console each other. The season also promises crumbling marriages for multiple cast members, with the trailer teasing 'three marriages crumbling.' It airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on Bravo.

Netflix's Physical 100: Italy — the first European edition of the breakout South Korean franchise — drops its penultimate batch of episodes (6 and 7) today, September 25, on Netflix. The Italian competition pits 100 athletes in brutal physical challenges for a €118,000 prize, with no gender-based categories. Olympic gymnastics champion Jury Chechi was already eliminated early after underestimating MMA fighter Ivano Salerno in a one-on-one duel, and the competition has been shifting to team-based strategy. The finale drops October 2.

The Traitors: New Blood — Season 5 of the franchise — premiered September 17 on NBC and is now streaming Fridays on Peacock. The season swaps out celebrities for 22 everyday Americans selected from over 80,000 applicants, all competing at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands for up to $250,000. Alan Cumming returns as host. Last Thursday's double-episode saw Kriste's intel steer the table away from Victor and toward Madeline — who turned out to be a Faithful. The show airs Thursdays at 8/7c on NBC through its November 19 finale.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 5 dropped all five episodes on Hulu on September 10, and the tea is piping hot — even in a shortened format. The season was cut from its originally ordered 20 episodes due to filming pauses following the domestic violence allegations involving Taylor Frankie Paul and ex Dakota Mortensen (the same incident that caused ABC to scrap Taylor's Bachelorette season). Whitney Leavitt's Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago is woven throughout, and the season marks her final outing as a full-time cast member. Taylor appears only in a limited capacity.

TLC has confirmed that 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Season 8 premieres Sunday, October 4, at 8 p.m. ET/PT — right on the heels of the 90 Day Fiancé Season 12 Tell All. Season 8 brings back fan-favorite couple Kenny Niedermeier and Armando Rubio, who face a 'terrifying health scare' with Armando's daughter Hannah, plus returning duo Niles Valentine and Matilda Nti from Before the 90 Days. Five brand-new couples will also join the season, navigating love across Ghana, Singapore, France, Italy, Australia, and Mexico.
